Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

I am delighted to welcome you all to a new and exciting school year! It’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces returning and to warmly welcome our new Reception children who are joining our school community for the first time.

A Warm Welcome to Reception Children
Starting school is a significant milestone for children and their families, and we are thrilled to see our youngest pupils beginning their educational journey with us. Our dedicated Early Years team has been working hard to ensure a smooth and fun transition into school life, and we can already see their curiosity and excitement shining through! We look forward to supporting them as they settle in and make new friends.

Cycle to School Week (23rd - 27th September)
We are excited to announce that Cycle to School Week is next week. This nationwide initiative encourages children (and adults!) to embrace healthier, more environmentally-friendly modes of transport.

We encourage all students to participate, if possible, by cycling to school throughout the week. Not only is it a fantastic way to get some exercise, but it's also a wonderful opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment. Don’t forget to wear helmets and follow road safety rules!

We hope this will be a fun and energising week for everyone involved. If you have any questions or need advice on safe routes, feel free to contact us.

Final Thoughts
As we start this school year, we remain committed to creating a safe, happy, and enriching environment for all our students. I encourage you to stay involved in school activities and keep an eye out for more exciting events on the horizon!

Warm regards,

Miss Jarrett

Sporting Updates

Mr Bowskill has been out this week at Slough Sports Network Annual PE conference.  This leads to great opportunities being planned for our children as we look to continue to develop opportunities for our children.

Clubs have started this week! There are a few spaces in both Girls football and Mixed football clubs, so if you would like your child to participate do log onto Parentpay and sign them up.

Next week we are holding our first Hero House competition of the year (if the weather allows).  We look forward to sharing the results with you in our next newsletter.

Well done to all parents/carers who continue to ensure their children attend school regularly.  Please remember if your child has a cough or cold they are likely to still be well enough to attend school.

This week Year 2 has the highest attendance of any year group across the school. Well done!!

Attendance - Introduction at the Parents' Information sessions

If you were unable to attend either of the KS1 parents information sessions for your child's year group last week - please note that the 'slides' have been shared via Class Dojo.

Our school's approach to attendance: Working with our Families, will remain the same. However there are a few key changes to be aware of:

  • All recorded lates will be monitored and there will now be a follow up meeting with Mr Bowskill if there are more than 3 occasions within a 3 week period;
  • Unauthorised absences are recorded and monitored within a 10 week rolling period
  • Fixed Penalty Notices can be issued more than once
  • Home visits can be conducted from the 2nd day of absence

We will always want to support our children and families with attendance, so if you have any questions or concerns - please speak to Mr Bowskill.
