Dear Phoenix Infant School Community,

Thank You for Your Support!

We were thrilled to see the amazing participation in our recent pyjama and Crazy Hair Day! Your enthusiasm and creativity truly help set the tone for our upcoming summer fair preparations. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and showed their school spirit. If you did not hand in your £1 contribution for the non-uniform day please do give this to your teacher or the school office.

Summer Fair Preparations

This year’s summer fair is shaping up to be our biggest yet, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help to make this event a success! If you are able to volunteer or support in any way, please join us at our next PIPs (Phoenix Infant Parents) meeting on Friday at 9 am. Your involvement is crucial, and we appreciate any time and effort you can offer.

Exciting Events This Term

Our school calendar is packed with exciting events this term. Be sure to mark your calendars and stay informed about all the activities planned, from sports day to various school trips. It’s going to be a fantastic term, and we look forward to seeing you at these events.

Summer Weather Reminder

With the warmer weather finally upon us, we want to remind everyone to dress appropriately in the summer uniform. Boys can wear shorts, and girls can wear the blue summer dress. Please remember to apply sun cream to your children before they come to school and ensure they bring a hat to protect them from the sun.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Let’s make this term memorable!

Best regards,

Miss Jarret

Celebrating our Children!

We were very pleased to receive a visit from Perform on Monday 3rd June. The children had a wonderful time exploring the theme of Fairytales & Fables and using drama, dance and singing to help develop their confidence, concentration and social skills.

The children thoroughly enjoyed stepping into the world of imagination as they were taken on adventure to find the book in the enchanted forest. There were lots of giggles and smiles as they expressed themselves in different ways as they moved through the forest!

Sienna "It was so much fun! We ate the Red Queen's pie and then we started to find the book the evil queen had taken."

Isaac " We went through the portal and went to the Queen's castle"

Zikra "We opened the portal. We went in and we were finding the book, the fairy tales book. We found it and we saved them. It was the best!"

See below for details of an app you can download and a discount available to parents at Phoenix.

In Music lessons in KS1 children learn to play, improvise and compose using the glockenspiels.  They are really developing their ability to play the melody of a piece of music and to use different rhythms in their improvisations.

Our Eco Council planted this year's competition entry in the Slough School Wheelbarrow competition! The wheelbarrow will be collected later this month and on display in Slough High Street at the beginning of July.

Khatiba - We planted red, white and pink plants.

Aarish - The planter is for a competition against other schools in Slough so we made it look good.

Aayan - Our planter will be in Slough High Street in July.

Zaina - We planted a purple plant called lavender.

Hewad - We will water the plants.

The Nest

Sporting Updates

The Path to Paris

At Phoenix children run the daily mile every day.  This term we have a class competition running where classes are competing to be the first class to make it to Paris, where the Olympic and Paralympic Games are being held in the summer! Children move their class bird 1 space per daily mile run and move through different locations on their way to Paris.  Blackbird class moved their piece this week and said "We've made it to London"!
