How are we already at the Easter Holidays? It has been a wonderful term, full of learning and excitement culminating in the disco yesterday which the children loved!

I am very pleased to introduce Mr Bowskill who has joined our school this week as Interim Vice Principal.  Many of you will have already met Mr Bowskill as he has been out and about on gates every day.  Mr Bowskill will be working with and supporting parents to improve attendance next term.

There are lots of flyers from local clubs and organisations at the end of this newsletter with activities for the Easter holidays.  As ever please do share what you get up to with us on Dojo.

Have a lovely Easter holiday's and see you all on Monday 17th April!

Goodbye, Farewell ....

Today we said farewell to Dr Ruzane who has taught so many children during her time at the school.

She has worked at Phoenix Infants for over 20 years and has been an integral part of our team here at Phoenix. We thank her for her dedication and hard work during her tenure and wish her all the best as she enters her retirement.

Miss Ford will also be leaving us at the end of this term and moving on to pastures new. We thank her for her contribution towards the school and wish her well.

SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding is the action we take to promote the welfare of children in our care and to protect them from harm. Every child can potentially be hurt, put at risk from harm or abused regardless of their age, gender, religion, ethnicity or disability. Safeguarding means that:

• Children are protected from mistreatment

• A child’s health, or development, is protected

• Children grow up with safe and effective care

• Action is taken to ensure the best outcomes for all children.

A reminder that staff are always available to discuss safeguarding concerns and anyone can raise concerns with Slough Children First.

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Miss Jarrett

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Miss Austin

Science Week

Thank you to everyone who entered the Science Week competition.  Miss Towers has loved seeing everyone's creativity and the posters are now on display around the school.  We particularly loved Chase's on a theme of Road Safety - something that is particularly important to help keep our children safe.

Clubs

Clubs are going live on ParentPay today and the sign up for Fencing was added to Dojo yesterday.  Fencing, Football and home learning clubs were full within days last term and many children missed out on a space so please do sign up quickly if you would like a space!

Chicks

We were all very excited to welcome eggs to school a couple of weeks ago in Reception.  They hatched and have inspired Reception to draw, write and create ever since! Take a look below at what Reception got up to!
