Friday 18th November 2022

Messages from the Principal, Mrs Pelazza

{alt_tag}

This morning, our school councillors were raising money for Children in Need. As they were doing so, I was talking to them about why many people were fundraising today. We then spoke at length about our half-term value: EMPATHY, and the importance of helping those who may not be as fortunate as ourselves. I cannot thank you all enough for donating to this very worthwhile cause.

I would also like to give a special mention to our Year 2 children this week. Whilst walking back from lunch, many of them wished me a lovely lunch and gave me a fantastic smile.

What a wonderful way to demonstrate empathy. Keep it up, Year 2!

SAFEGUARDING

Electric scooters, or e-scooters, are fast becoming a popular method of transport. However, many people are unaware of the law surrounding their use.

E-scooters are legal to own in the UK; however, they can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission. It is currently illegal to use them on public roads, pavements, in cycle lanes and in pedestrian-only areas.

{alt_tag}

A reminder please that children should not be riding them, or riding on them as a passenger, on any public road.

Have you updated your address, telephone number or email address since September?

If the answer is YES, please inform our school office.

Call on 01753 521888, email at post@phoenixinfants.uk or come in and see us!

Please also remember to return the data collection sheets we sent home recently.

Remembrance Day

Thank you to everyone who was able to purchase one of the British Legion poppy appeal items. The SNAP bands were particularly popular!

Thank you also to our wonderful school councillors for helping to sell these items. They were very proud of themselves, as were we, and had a lovely time.

We are hugely proud to announce that we raised £337 for the Royal British Legion.

Well done, and thank you, to you all!

Late Collections

It is so important for children's well-being that they are collected on time each day.

A gentle reminder that classroom doors open at 3:15pm and close at 3:25pm.

If you are having problems collecting your child on time, please do arrange a meeting to speak to your child's class teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. There are always solutions, and we are only too happy to help.

Most Improved Attendance Award!

On Friday 16th December, we will be holding a prize draw for the MOST IMPROVED attendance.

For your child to be entered, please ensure they attend school regularly.

If you need any support, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher or Principal Mrs Pelazza (the school's Senior Champion for Attendance.)

Wishing you all a lovely weekend, and hopefully one that's filled with lots of little tokens of empathy; a hug, a kind word or an offer of help.

TOGETHER WE SOAR!
