INCLUSION AND WELL-BEING

Welcome to Phoenix Infant's first Inclusion and Well-Being newsletter.

My name is Miss Austin and I lead Inclusion and Well-Being across the school. It is a very varied role, but I love it! I am very lucky to work with an amazing team.

I am on the Cinder Track gate in the mornings and afternoons, so please do say hello!

Children's Well-Being

{alt_tag}

Promoting children’s well-being is a key part of our school ethos. Here are some ideas of how you can support your child at home:

Exercise:

Exercise can reduce stress and anxiety and increase self-esteem. You can incorporate it into your child’s routine by:

  • Walking, scooting or cycling to school
  • Visiting the local park
  • Walking to the local library
  • Enroling them in an after school or weekend club
  • Go swimming at the weekend

Here are some helpful links:

  • Joe Wicks’ workout for children - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzA8wMx-gew
  • Yoga - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dxg1Sp4Q0g
  • Dance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiiuFwh_MDM

Playing games:

Interactive games are a great way to relax children. Try a new board game or puzzle, often charity shops have a variety of games at very reasonable prices! You could try:

  • Snakes and ladders
  • Playing cards
  • Matching games
  • Colouring
  • Drawing
