Phoenix Infant Academy

our class structure

Our school aim, 'Together We Soar,' is inextricably linked to all we do and all we are.  As such, our classes offer a 'nod' to this and are organised according to British birds.

Our Reception children are assigned to classes represented by garden birds.

Our Year 1 pupils are assigned to classes represented by river birds.

Our Year 2 pupils are assigned to classes represented by birds of prey; they 'soar' as they fly onto new pastures!

The pupils allocated to our Resource Base are assigned one of the below classes and are very much part of these with their Mainstream peers; however, they also form part of our 'Nest.'

All birds are relatively local, and our children are provided with opportunities to observe, and learn about, them throughout their time with us.  This includes such experiences as visits from Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre, Bracknell (right).
