Music

The children have been doing some exciting learning in Music at school. To continue with this learning at home, here are some websites that you and your children can explore together. Have fun!

The Inspire Works website gives access to a range of courses and online workshops which children can use to learn a range of instruments, or to just make music using their body or items around the home. There are online courses in African Drumming, Brazillian Samba Drumming, Indian Dhol Drumming and more!

MusicMark has collected together a range of online home and school resources which are free to access. These resources are aimed to help children with music from Reception to GCSE level.

The National Youth Choir of Scotland has daily singing activities and short songs which can help children learn about important musical features including pulse, pitch, tempo and dynamics. Learning the moves to go with the songs can also help your child with their coordination too! Check out the NYCOS YouTube channel to get started!

BBC Bring the Noise has a variety of games and songs to offer to students at home! Many of these incorporate other subject areas currently being explored by children via their online learning. There are also many articles about encouraging a love of music education within children, and how to bring music into the daily lives of young ones.
